HOW the design process WORKS

One. Introductions

After your initial enquiry and our mutual (good) decision to go ahead and work together, I’ll forward you an invoice for a 50% deposit of the total investment. I will also send through a Contract of Service for you to sign and return.

Two. Client Onboarding and Homework

Once the deposit is received and the signed contract returned, I’ll send you through the first part of your homework which is the Content Planner Questionnaire. This questionnaire will cover everything from your business name, services you provide, contact details and all your website content. You’ll also receive a Branding Questionnaire where I’ll ask you to list any colour preferences, existing brand details and websites you drool over. I’ll use this information to build your mood board which you’ll get to see (and tweak) before I starting building your website.

The second part of your homework is uploading any additional website content and images to a Google Drive or Dropbox folder which we’ll share. Once done, you can tick the complete button and your homework is done! Grab a glass of red and go watch Netflix!

Three. Design & Build

Using the information gathered from the Content Planner and the mood board I’ve created consisting of brand colours, fonts, buttons and images. I’ll build a mock up of your entire website using Adobe XD. This works like an actual website where you can click through links and pages to see how your website will look. After presenting the XD mock up, you’ll have the opportunity to request changes. Once all edits have been completed and the mock up has been finalised, I’ll start building your website on Squarespace. If you have an existing Squarespace website, I’ll build the website directly through your account. If not, I’ll use my Squarespace account and Circle Member benefits to build your website and once completed, I’ll transfer ownership to you using your newly set up Squarespace account.

Four. Refine

During the build, I’ll send you a link to your website so you can check out how its looking. This gives you the opportunity to take a look over it and request any changes (the number of revisions you’re able to request depends on the package you choose). I want to ensure I leave you with a website you love.  So the refinement process allows us both to analyse what is and isn’t working so we can strengthen the design and functionality.

Five. Finalise & Transfer

As I mentioned earlier, once all revisions have been completed and the website finished, I’ll issue a final invoice for the remaining balance. Once paid, I’ll begin transferring the website over to you.

Six. Client Handover

When the transfer is done and you can view and edit your new Squarespace website, I’ll send you a training video that goes through how your website works and how to edit it yourself. You’ll have the chance to ask any questions and we can go through any specific aspects of your website that you think you might need extra help with. I’ll also forward you your design files, branding documents, guidelines and notes (where applicable).

Seven. Client Love

My main goal in building your website is to leave you with a design you love and one that works for you. If I’ve done that, I’d love to share your website on my socials and website. This means an Instagram shout-out for you and a link directly to your website from mine.
